Unlike the plate-like headdress of the Lomi Akha, the Ulo Akha headdress is conical, and rises up and away from the forehead in concentric rings. Ornamented in rows of silver (coins, beads, rings and tassels) as well as plastic beads, balls of yarn and dyed chicken feathers or animal hair.
